In it’s third year, the annual showcase “The Tomorrow People; Artists of The Future Now” features work by students and recent graduates from art schools in the U.K. and emerging artists.
The exhibition provides a much needed professional opportunity for young and emerging artists to gain wider recognition and visibility and offers a glimpse into the work of tomorrows artists today.
The Tomorrow People is open to all undergraduates, current post-graduates and early career artists. This years selection has been made by Artists, Curators and Elevator Gallery Directors, Snoozie Hexagon and Simon Reuben White.
First established in 2007, Elevator Gallery has a legacy of unearthing fresh talent and offers a platform for the energies, ideas, potential and promises of the next generation of artists. The Gallery is housed in the attic of a former Victorian chocolate factory opposite the River Lee Navigation and the 2012 Olympic Games site. It shares its home with Mother studios which occupies the top three floors of the building offering studio space to over 40 artists and creative businesses. Mother Open Studios 2010 will be open to visitors during the Private View on Friday the 30th of July and on Saturday the 31st of July and Sunday the 1st of August. (www.motherstudios.co.uk)
